MagNa participates at ISTP 2026

The MagNa project participated in the the 3rd International Congress on Separation and Purification Technology (ISPT 2026), which took place on 6–9 September 2026 in Sitges, Spain, to present the innovations that are being developed.

During the congress, Pietro Caruso, PhD Fellow at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and RMIT and part of MagNa, led the oral presentation “The Critical Role of Boron Removal for High-Purity Magnesium Hydroxide in Integrated Membrane-Crystallisation Processes for Brine Valorisation”, which included an overview of MagNa’s treatment train.

ISPT 2026 brought together leading researchers, engineers and representatives of government organisations to present advances in separation and purification technology for chemical and environmental engineering applications.

MagNa is led by Cetaqua-Water Technology Centre in collaboration with AITASA, Veolia, and UPC, and is co-funded by the EU’s EIT RawMaterials programme. The project contributes to several European sustainability initiatives, including the EU Action Plan for Zero Pollution, the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability, and the European Green Deal.
